Last year, I contacted Carl prior to the enrollment period to discuss our plans for the up coming year. We have been doing this for a few years and I have found it to be helpful. This year, I told him that I would be needing some dental care and my wife will continue to need a low co-pay for the specialists she sees. Carl suggested that I change to a different AARP/UHC plan, while my wife stayed in her current plan. I did have the dental work and my co-payments were zero. If I had stayed in my old plan, I would have had to pay a co-pay.
